Funsho Stephen Adekunle is a seasoned business development and sales strategist with well over a decade of experience across the telecommunications and finance industries. As Chief Executive Officer of OYA Solutions Limited (OYA Microcredit Company), Funsho leads the organization’s strategic vision, operational excellence, and growth initiatives, driving innovation and impact at every level.
He began his career in 2009 with Globacom Limited, one of Nigeria’s largest telecommunications companies. Over the course of more than a decade, he advanced through various leadership roles—starting as a Business Development Executive and rising to State Manager, including a period as stand-in Regional Manager. He led dynamic sales teams across both Northern and Southern Nigeria, consistently exceeding revenue targets and spearheading strategic projects. Notably, Funsho played a key role as one of the pioneer strategists for the SIM Registration and Activation project introduced by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC)
In 2022, Funsho brought his extensive leadership experience into the financial services space by joining OYA Solutions as Head of Operations. His ability to optimize systems and deliver results led to his swift appointment and elevation as CEO, where he now oversees the company’s transformation, customer-focused initiatives, and performance-driven culture.
Born in the eighties, Funsho holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science (Second Class Upper) from the University of Ilorin, a Master’s in Public Administration with a focus on business policy and strategic planning, and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Lagos. He also earned a certificate in Accounting and Finance for Non-Finance Managers from the Lagos Business School (Pan-Atlantic University). In addition, he holds professional certifications in Dynamic Content Management and Management Training from the Nigerian Institute of Management.
His core competencies include business development, sales and marketing, project management, operations, procurement, activation and retention strategies. Funsho is known for his visionary leadership, resilience, and ability to develop and scale businesses sustainably. His efforts have been recognized through numerous recognitions in leadership, sales excellence and business strategy including The Guardian’s - Nigeria’s Most Inspiring and Award-winning Public and Private Leaders.
Beyond the boardroom, Funsho is a family-oriented individual who enjoys building strong relationships and engaging in philanthropic activities.
